The directors" Colin and James Krisel in their directional debut brought a hollow thriller. The movie was not bad even though it was familiar but it lacked suspense and emotion. The story is about a scared drifter due to witnessing the murder of his girlfriend until one day he sees a female actor who looks like her and he stops at nothing to seek the truth. I considered it more as a drama than a thriller and in its familiar concept, it gave away the suspense with such a weak build-up that never grab my attention. What this film needed was a twist that never came and it had so many opportunities for it but everything went straightforward. While the ending was expected, I"m glad how it emphasizes the complexities of love because it shows how love can change over the years.
The composer Benjamin Patrick gave the film the emotion it lacked with his music but even though it was beautiful it wasn"t enough without the story to back it up.
It had a decent cast but no room to praise their performances in a hollow thriller. I was looking forward to watching this because of Samara Weaving, loved her in Ready Or Not (2019) but I can"t fault her acting skills. Her character needed more background, even if the viewpoint was mainly towards the actor Zach Avery which also didn"t impress me. There were so many opportunities to give her more ground for her to work on and by avoiding it the illogical character story was created.

Great movie, good music, gorgeous women, the lead guy was convincing as a next door dude, but unfortunately the ending was disappointing.
The scene when they make love again after three years is very powerful, with this great music in it.

He sees his actress girlfriend Georgia (Samara Weaving ) take a shot to the head and believes she is dead. Years later Lauren Clerk appears on the screen. She looks like Georgia. He travels back to LA to find out.
Okay, this is not now or ever will be comparable to a Hitchcock thriller. I find the write up on the DVD misleading in that regard. My guess was amnesia, which would have made a better script than what we got. It is a mediocre plot crime thriller with some good acting.
